History of Red Dog
The original Red Dog was a popular card game played in World War II by servicemen. Red Dog was played less and less because it was an easy mark for cheaters.
Some Casinos bought Red Dog back but changed the game a bit to stop the cheaters. The newer version has some significant changes and it is still called Casino Red Dog today.
How to Play Red Dog
Players will place their bets and the dealer will deal the player 2 cards. The objective of Red Dog is to bet on if you think the rank of the third card is going to fall between the first two. If it does you win and if not you lose.
Now the 'raise' bet comes in and it depends on the 'spread'. The spread is the number of the value of the cards that fall between the two initial cards. Cards from 2-10 count as their face value, Jacks count as 11, Queens as 12, Kings as 13 and an ace as 14.
Example: If the dealer deals a 6 and 9. What would the spread be? 7 and 8 fall between 6 and 9 so the spread will be 2. If the next hand is a 5 and 6 it is called a 'tie' because no cards fall between 5 and 6, you will keep your bet and the hand is over.
